 I love it when you watch a video and you're really into, you look into it a bit more and discover you know the person that directed the video. That's what happened this morning when I watched this. Sean Stout who also does the "In The Cutts" project with us directed this video for Zach Hill. It's pretty effing amazing, captures a Sacto mood of angst, confusion and rage quite well. The overall story and concept is reminiscent of a Romain Gavras music video and it leaves you with that very same feeling that one of his videos does after viewing.

 So we're dipping into some ridiculously splendid hand-knit corchet beanies produced by a very small factory run by my girl Kelly just outside of Shanghai for this winter. We're so hyped to get these beanies out as it's a wonderful extension of our line. This particular beanie shown here is a hand-knit homage to the '95 Airmax colorway. This season's "Alpini" woven label is produced in the crafty shape of a mountain complete with snow-cap. Stay coming to the Official site for beanie updates and drop dates.

This one takes it way back. Remember the Thizz! This hat cost us like $17.00 each to make and we were wholesaling it at like $14.50. Nothing like losing $2.50 per hat! It was totally worth it.

Aside from the fact that this is social media genius. The van these cats are in is super ill. Does anybody know the make/model of it?

Cool Guy Cup 2010 absolutely went off yesterday. Super good vibes celebrating the love of soccer, community and not taking sport too seriously. A mix of incredibly skilled players with skateboarders that can switch flippidy-flip double-sets but can't kick a ball to save their life (or team in this case). The rules were, there were no rules. Just get the ball between the posts, don't worry about the soccer faux pas that were being committed on an outrageus and entertaining level. With those rules layed out, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of cool guys playing soccer.

Lurk Hard gets the prize for embracing the vibe to the fullest. Not one of their players wore cleats, most were in cut-offs... yet they were competitive and celebrative the whole way through. Next year they've got to find a way to get Pabst as a sponsor for their motley crew.

 Getta Clue brought the party vibe and strongest showing of female players (which were also staff BTW, no ringers). Getta Clue nearly made it to the championship game. Big shouts go out to Justin for helping to make Cool Guy Cup an awesome event.

This is the Official team. A rag-tag collection of skateboarders, cool guys and bar flys. No wonder we didn't get very far. But we looked good not going very far and that's all that counts.

The Golden Bears had the most creative uniforms, a great mix of skilled and not-so-skilled players that they made work and earn them a well deserved trip to the championship. Another team that fully embraced the vibe and contributed to making Cool Guy Cup an epic event.

In the end it was the NINE16 Meatballs that took the very first Cool Guy Cup. These dudes are all skateboarders that for some reason have better than average to phenomenal soccer skills. A well deserved victory as they came deep with subs, competitiveness and strategy. Congratulations to the Meatballs. Bask in your spoils for the next twelve months, next year everybody will be gunning for yah!

We could not resist the urge to jump into the mix with their own creative take on World Cup fever with a limited T-shirt production. The design and concept is a reference to football club training kits utilizing a bright, neon yellow/black colorway to catch that peripheral on the practice pitch. The Barça crest has been flipped and dipped into an Official crest and probably the most intriguing and ingenious feature is the “MESSIROONEYDINHO” #10 back print. Combining the names of three world-class #10 wearers, Lionel Messi(Argentina, Barca), Wayne Rooney(England,Man U.) and Ronaldinho(Brazil, AC Milan) symbolizes the power #10 holds in the football world.

So last night's episode of Glee "Funk" had actress Jenna Ushkowitz (the asian girl) rocking an Official mesh snap-back on the final performance of the episode. We were pretty hyped to say the least. It's nice when a network show's stylist calls to pull some hats. It's an even better feeling when nobody called and your hats magically appear on pretty much the most watched show on TV.

Big shouts out to the Glee people that got an Official hat on an episode. Thanks Jenna for rockin' it so well.

We've decided to build upon our very successful debut of our color flipped California flags for next season. Fall 2010 will offer two colorways and we have a crispy likkle preview of what we've dubbed "Alt. Cali Colorway." You might find a half-hearted California flag hat attempts by other headwear brands but we've upped the game to near unmatchable levels with a premium cotton twill patch, embroidered and then meticulously zigzag stitched border. And that's not even mentioning the fabric selections complimenting these embroidered patches.

Just got done watching this new Hold Tight Henry film of John Tanner for Es Shoes and I'm floored. The skating is cool but what really left the greatest impression on me was the filming and editing. Henry actually gives us the gift of what it feels like to push through London on a rare sunny day from our desktops. Not many skate videos can do that or even aim to do that. Most videos focus on the brilliance of the rider and the best angle to capture the trick. This film laces texture, backdrop, free spirit and light-hearted skate spots that your everyday rider would love to stumble upon to compose an unspoken story of skating in London with John Tanner.

This is probably the most anticipated SB release since the Janoski's here at Official HQ. But even more exciting for us is our "Officials" black/orange snap-back is the perfect match.

 I don't know if this is fresh or wack. Regardless, it kept me watching all the way to the end of the video which is a rare accomplishment these days.

Are we hella late on this Stylphone Beatbox thing? There is so much out there in the world today that it’s not uncommon to discover things like a year late. This seems something they sell at Urban Outfitters to hipsters having friends over for retro casio keyboard and fisher price music nights.

We’re eager to drop our new English driving cap silhouettes for Fall10 and Winter10. This preview is of a piece coming out for Winter10. Anybody can make an English driving cap and for us to jump into this silhoutte we pushed ourselves to develop some game changing joints. A combination of refined style and unconventional materials for this style make for some modern classics. For this preview the contrast of the brushed herringbone and the hand-woven Guatamalan fabric marries classic textiles from two completely different cultures creating a modern flip on a staple style can be traced back to the 14th century in United Kingdom. Official is eager to make it’s mark in English driving cap history and we’ve composed quite a collection of pieces to christen our entry into the style’s long and colorful history.

Super Fresh in Saudi Arabia has been stocking Official since their Grand Opening. It’s always a trip for us to pack up boxes and ship them off to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If you’re rocking an Official hat in Saudi Arabia (which many are), then you’ve got to feel a step ahead of your fellow Arabian peers. If not a few decades worth of steps ahead…

Our curiosity got the best of us and we asked Majed from Super Fresh to answer some stockist interview questions. We yearned for a better feel of exactly where these hats were going in Saudi Arabia and the person behind the distribution of them. Someday we’ll get out to Riyadh but for now this interview will be ours and now your look into a stockist of Official in what the west considers a very mysterious country.

What is Super Fresh?
Super fresh is an entertainment store for clothing, arts & music.

How many years has Super Fresh been in business?
We have been in business for about a year and a half.

What are some brands that do well in your store?
Hellz Bellz and Glamour Kills is the favorite for our customers.

How does most of your clientele get information about the brands featured in
your store?
Mostly by ads in popular websites and by mobile text messaging.

Has the focus of the shop changed since you began or stayed consistent with
the original focus/concept?
Yes we have developed Super Fresh in many ways, such as, the general appearance of the store and brands.
In addition, we have expanded our activities and sponsored artists. We are also doing some projects related to the youth.




Is there a good skateboarding/streetwear scene in Riyadh?
Skateboarding is actually very rare in Riyadh.

What are some of the challenges of having a shop such as Super Fresh in
Riyadh?
The challenges are to keep developing our service level and offer the best items.
We also stock items that are not offered in other stores in Riyadh city which makes us unique and that attracts many people.

What are some of the benefits of having a shop such as Super Fresh in
Riyadh?
Super Fresh is not only a store for outfits. We are doing our best to make it the main source for street arts.
We have worked in the past period to make a local data base to artists in different fields. Super Fresh will be the number one store in the Kingdom.

Is there anything you’d like the rest of the world to know about Super Fresh
and Riyadh that might be surprising to them?
We continuously follow up all what is new in fashion world as we are always in contact with many designers and world artists.
Super Fresh offers many stuff that big world stores doesn’t offer, and for this reason we have the name Super Fresh.

When I wake up my contacts are all dry and I stumble over to my computer to see if my Japanese hit me up while I was sleeping. If they didn’t (which they didn’t today), I check out some blogs with like one eye open and the other eye twitching because my contact is like half-way folded up into the inside of my eyelid and my muscles are instinctively buggin’ out on it.
